Blue GNU Off To Slow, Steady Start

Well, the Blue GNU launch today got off to a slow start. And I mean really slow! But how did the day end?

I had a performance issue that really hampered visitors' experience. After allocating a bit more memory, performance definitely improved. I tweaked the settings again a little while ago, and seem to be seeing yet more improvement. Another challenge I faced today is that only one of the normal media outlets where I submitted stories as an LXer editor carried my press release. Go figure.

The good news is that we still generated more traffic today than we did in the whole month of July. O.k., granted that may not be much to boast about. Even so, we managed to make a small splash, and will continue to grow from here. We got a few registered users, a subscriber or two, and some nice compliments. All in all, not a bad day!
