Blue GNU Publisher to Speak At Ohio LinuxFest

I just received an e-mail this morning saying my presentation, Marketing FOSS, has been accepted, and I responded to confirm. The Ohio Linuxfest will run September 27th-30th in Columbus, OH. I will be presenting on Saturday, the 29th. I don't yet have the schedule, but you can bet I'll be there.

My discussion will address the fact that marketing/promoting play an important role in growing a project and help FOSS project teams discover some solid opportunities to further spread the word about their projects beyond simple word-of-mouth. In most cases, it is a simple matter to increase the number of mouths that can spread the word about your project. The problem is there are many high-quality projects that are overlooked because they rely solely on word-of-mouth and make no effort to promote themselves. And no, you don't necessarily have to have money to market your project.

You go, dood!

Congratulations! If you see Paulie Ferris give him noogies from his old chums at LXer. I'm sure your presentation will be a big success!
